About

As a former professor, political leader and writer I, Gordon FD Wilson, enter the world of cyberspace with my blog “The View Through My Eyes”.

I spend most of my time on my ten acre waterfront sheep farm in Powell River. I’m Chairman of the Board of Tugboat Enterprises Ltd, http://www.tugboatenterprises.com , an innovative software development company that owns the award-winning Selkie Software data recovery and migration software. But that doesn’t mean I’m not paying attention to the events of the day. Never one to be shy about stating my opinion, I provide insight to a wide variety of topics ranging from politics, the economy, global and local environmental issues and on occasion even the glitterati.

I have always enjoyed communicating with people who like to engage in informed debate on the issues of the day. Living in British Columbia, there is no shortage of good fodder for the cannon of social discourse.

My political career saw me resurrect the moribund Liberal party and take it to Official Opposition, after an election debate performance still regarded as one of the most effective in Canadian political history. From my political platform I frequently took on the established point of view in favour of Canadians, who I saw to be equal in every respect.

I hope lots of people will come to my site and chat over coffee. There are so many issues in need of attention and so much that needs improving in our country. It is time for Canadians to re-engage in a dialogue that will compell those in public office to do something positive on our behalf.

But my blog is not all politics. Since leaving public office I have written a fictional trilogy. Set in Scotland in the late 14th Century Betrayal, the first book in the series, features protagonist William Gunn, who finds himself in the middle of one of the most important voyages in history, the Zeno voyage to Nova Scotia. Blog readers will get an advanced peak at the story as it unfolds, along with periodic backgrounders that explore the historical facts surrounding the fiction.

Readers will find the blog http://www.gordonfdwilson.com/ interesting and entertaining. Bookmark it and visit often. Comments will usually receive a reply from myself.

Cheers,
Gordon Wilson
